Everything is BIGGER in Texas!

While working in Louisiana we were able to visit some of our friends living in Texas. So for a long weekend we headed over to Texas starting out near Corpus Christi. We stayed our first night on Mustang Island State Park. A state park where you can drive your vehicles on the beach and camp. To get there we rode on our first car ferry taking us over to the island. It was definitely lots of fun but be prepared to have sand in everything!

The next day we did some fishing in our kayaks near Corpus Christi where apparently Matt caught the biggest red fish in his life but has no documentation of it! After fishing all day and getting too much sun we filled our bellies with some fresh seafood then headed to our friends apartment to stay the night. Our friends lived less than 2 hours from San Antonio, Texas so we took a day trip to this cool little town. We parked downtown and spent most of the day there. You can’t go to San Antonio without checking out the Alamo so we went there first then walked around the famous river walk.

There are tons of restaurants and shops for shopping all along the river. You can also take a boat tour on the river that goes through downtown. We ended our day in San Antonio with some amazing Mexican food and stopping to get dessert at LuLu’s famous bakery. This bakery has been aired on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives because they are known for their cinnamon roll that weighs 3 pounds!!! Between the four of us we split one cinnamon roll and still had some left over! A definite must if you ever visit San Antonio! Like people say everything is BIGGER in Texas!
