Hello 2019! A new year for new beginnings!

New Years Eve

Hey ya’ll! I just want to start out by saying this is something new for Matt and I and we don’t know how well of a response we will get but its a new year and that means trying new things. We would like to share our story and adventures with others. For those who don’t know us personally we are travel nurses and live in a fifth wheel camper. We have been travel nursing for 2 years now and we absolutely love it. I’ve been wanting to start a blog now for about a year but I just couldn’t get the courage to do it one because I don’t consider myself a very good writer and two just actually sitting down and having the time to start a blog. Since we started traveling I have had many people tell us we should start writing a blog because they love seeing our travels and would like to hear more about our trips. People frequently ask us what to see and what is not worth seeing in our opinion, on the places we have been. So this blog will be about a variety of things like travel, life, family (and for those who know Matt) FISHING. Currently we are working in Georgia and are enjoying being close to our hometowns and enjoying time with friends and family. As I post more in our blog I will definitely backtrack on our previous travels that we’ve done in the last two years to get everyone caught up! I hope ya’ll enjoy our blog and if you have any recommendations or questions please feel free to tell us, because like I said this is all very new to us and I am slowly learning how to blog. We are so excited to find out where this years adventures will take us!

Chaca our sweet fur baby

Let’s start with a little bit about our life. Pictured above is our fur baby Chaca. We have had her for almost 5 years and she goes everywhere with us. Honestly she is the best dog we could ask for. Always by our side in every adventure and road trip. So be prepared you will see this girls face a lot in our blog. We call her our little human and we love her very much!

Matt and I have been married for two years now and have known each other since 2014. When I met Matt he was in nursing school working as a paramedic and I was working in an ER that he would frequently bring patients to. After dating for a short while we got engaged in May of 2015. Matt finished nursing school in December 2015 and started working as an RN in the same ER I worked in. I know… I know… your probably thinking wow I could never live and work with my spouse and let me tell you we hear that all the time from everyone we meet but somehow we know how to separate work from home life and it has worked out just fine for us!

Our Wedding Day

We got married in October of 2016 and not long after that Matt had enough experience for us to start travel nursing. We officially gave up our permanent positions in the ER in January 2017 and took our first contract in Louisiana in February 2017. To me this was the biggest leap of faith we have ever taken and quite possibly the scariest. We had put all of our combined newly married savings into the camper we were going to be living in and had no money to fall back on incase of an emergency so we let Jesus take the wheel. In preparation for this journey we sold everything we owned for the exception of a few sentimental items that we put in storage. There was much more we had to do in preparation for our first contract and maybe that will be a good topic for another post if anyone would like to hear about that. Getting to live, work, and explore new places is amazing but we cant leave out all the different cultures and amazing people we have met throughout our travels. We have definitely made some great friends along our journey. We love the life we are living and thanking God for all of the opportunities he has given us. We cannot thank HIM enough for the protection and mercy he has given us in the last two years but most of all without HIM we would not be where we are today.
